IANS held competitive procedures to select a co-executor of the UAS Test Site project to conduct work in the interests of creating a domestic service (center) for UAS accelerated development and certification (digital platform). The digital platform is a hardware and software complex that provides virtual testing of UAS digital twin and its component.
As part of NTI Project Committee assignment № 3 implementation (Annex No. 2 to the Protocol of the Project Committee № 3 dated 28.02.2019) – "To present an analysis and justify the choice (provide proof of competence) of the performer in the framework of creating test site digital twins", IANS specialists analyzed the experience of other companies and organizations that are developing digital platforms in the aviation field. The experience of the United Aircraft Corporation, the Moscow Aviation Institute, SkolTech, DASSAULT SYSTÈMES SE and SIEMENS was analyzed.
The preliminary assessment showed that Russia lacks experience in creating a full-scale digital UAS platform for civil purposes and building an accelerated certification service based on it. Dassault Systèmes and Siemens have the most interesting experience in the field of digital UAS platforms.
Dassault Systèmes and Siemens participated in the design and engineering project of the UAS Test Site in terms of creating a digital platform and demonstrated their own solutions "Reinvent the Sky" (Dassault Systèmes) and Simcenter (Siemens) to the acceptance committee.
Under the terms of competitive procedures, Siemens was selected as an associate contractor of the UAS Test Site project. The company will provide methodological support and hardware and software implementation of transferring applied tasks of the UAS Test Site project developed by IANS to its digital platform under the contract.
